- Call the uber I want. not the one that is cheapest. No more yellow cab BS.
- I’m mostly here already, but eat whatever on the menu I feel like, as well as dine wherever I actually have “ichhā” for. It always feels liberating to go on a business trip and spend whatever I want on food. Going to Rooh and ordering every appetizer and main I wanted, and drinks too felt awesome, and the experience was worth every penny. Then, choosing to have pertrale sole as a reminder of another work trip I had was worth the cost of the memory itself.
- Treating my friends. No doubt in my mind, whether it be company money or not, there’s value in showing people their presence is valued. This applies to dates too, but even more so my friends and loved ones. Diwali sweets were one of my favorite things to give this year. Giving gifts to Kiara? Unmatched, and worth every penny.
Her grandmother told my mom today that every night when she says goodnight to her people, she also says goodnight to Maanav Mama. Hearing this breaks me in the best way. I can’t wait to be a dad and give my kids the world.
- Fitness. I experimented very hard with fitness expenditure this year, peaking at almost $5000, but even though BJJ memberships were $280/month at their peak, it was worth every penny. Made friends, connected differently with my own friends, and it helped me empty my physical and mental energy clip every day in different ways. Don’t stop doing this, and maybe even go deeper next year with supplements and even healthier eating via more Whole Foods and less processed protein
- Things for my own space. It hurts I didn’t buy a bench or similar for people to sit in my room for so long, given how often people do it. I know gathering and hosting is in my DNA, so it’s really important that in my next home I go really hard to realize that desire.
- I did tech well this year. Replaced a broken eight sleep, bought a 5070, dji pocket 3, and all the accessories one might want for it. If I feel like I want a 3d printer at the end of this exploratory journey, I hope to rebuy it. I could’ve been more forthcoming and less reserved with filament, however.
